To provide Literature Search Service is an important activity of the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC). Adequate modern facilities are available in BMRC, which include Computers, CD-Drive, Online-Internet, and other accessories. Everyday on average 6-8 doctors/social science researchers visit BMRC to avail the Literature Search Service.

BMRC has developed a “National Retrieval System” containing more than 5000 abstracts of scientific articles published in different Bangladeshi Journals. The Retrieval System is updated regularly. Database on Reproductive Health Research with retrieval capacity is available in the BMRC.

Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) provides MEDLINE-Literature Search Service (M-LSS) to the Doctors and Social Scientists engaged in Health Research. BMRC has Abstracts of all Scientific Articles (Indexed in Index Medicus) from 1966 to till date. BMRC also has access to the WHO Reproductive Health Library. BMRC has access to Internet. The Council also provides ONLINE-Literature Search Service (O-LSS) to the Doctors and Social Scientists engaged in Health Research.

BMRC provides full-text article service through Intellidoc System. IntelliDoc is an intelligent way of getting document. This service is provided through Canadian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI). Request is placed via Internet and the desired document is received by Laser Fax within 72 hours of placing the request. Health Systems Research (HSR) related literature, WHO Reports; Books related to Research Methods are available in the Library of the Council.
